Building Renewal

Connecting our community | Connecting to the future

St Luke’s has been at the heart our local community since 1923, when it first hosted Clovelly Public School in the original church hall.

The current hall - built in the 1960’s - can finally get the renovation it needs with our Connect Building Project.

What are we hoping to achieve?

First, we want to make our buildings inclusive and welcoming to all, by providing equitable access for the wide range of people who share our buildings - from kids to parents-with-prams to seniors. This also includes providing an accessible toilet. (Hear from Alicia below what this would mean for those with special needs).

Second, we want to create a more welcoming space, bringing the outdated hall entrance into the modern world. (Like half of the eastern suburbs, our 1960’s hall is in need of a reno! This will also improve safety, acoustics, comfort and climate impact).

Third, to make space for two new accessible ramps, plus a new accessible toilet and two ambulant toilets, we’re relocating our office and basement meeting room to a modest first floor with a shared office / meeting room.
