Our vision
A vision of life and hope
Jesus is all about new life.
John’s biography records Jesus’ claim that he came, from God, into our beautiful but broken world, ‘that we may have life and life to the full’ (John 10:10).
Our vision is to see the life and hope of Jesus change the eastern suburbs for good.
In God’s kindness, we’ve seen this vision growing since a new chapter began in 2009, with our Connect building project underway that is only now possible for the first time in a generation.
We pray that God will use our church to connect more and more people to the life and hope of Jesus. We believe this will happen more and more, as we grow into the ‘Gospel DNA’ that defines both who we are and who we want to be.
Our Gospel DNA
God is our deepest joy. When we seek our deepest joy in God above even the best of this life, we can enjoy God’s gifts without being enthralled by them, use God’s gifts to serve others, and find a resilient joy even when we lose them.
Jesus is the hope our city needs. Living in the east can feel like a slice of heaven-on-earth, but our city needs Jesus more than anything – and we believe that Jesus is the hope that changes everything.
God grows us in community. We only grow to be who God wants us to be in community with one another: in community that’s welcoming, embodied, and intergenerational.
God transforms us by grace. The change that transforms our hearts doesn’t come through guilt or religion, but as we experience Jesus’ grace more deeply.
Jesus gives us a purpose beyond ourselves. We all need purpose in life - and Jesus gives us a vision of life that’s about more than me, where our work and wealth and witness make a difference for God and for good.
