Our generous God has been growing his church here. Christians with a vision first invested in this place a century ago, so that we can be here today, holding out the new life that Jesus offers to this community. We’ve been growing over the last ten years and in 2019, we’ve had our biggest ever Sundays, have more people in Community Groups than ever, and had to turn away families from Summer Kids Club due to space restrictions.

Our Parish Council has a working plan to develop our staff team and our buildings. First we need to attend to some essential works:

  1. To replace the aging, heavy tiles with a colorbond steel roof (in a similar colour). The weight of the tiles is causing slow structural damage and cracks in the brick walls. We have a quote for ~$130,000.

  2. To ‘repoint’ the mortar in the brick and stonework. We have quotes ranging from $120,000 to $220,000. Re-pointing is an enormous job; we’re really talking about addressing the worst examples (eg, photo).

We have applied and received a NSW government ‘CBP’ grant for $50,720 - however, we lose this funding if the project isn’t completed by March 2020.

And we have preliminary approval from the National Trust to provide a tax deductible fund, as this involves restoration of a heritage building. We’ll provide these details, and speak with you about timing your donation.

With GST (which we need to pay up front but can claim later), we need to raise around $225,000.
