With the bay, beach, shops and parks all nearby, there’s lots for families to do in Clovelly.
Here’s a quick list of 9 things to do with the kids:
1/ head to one of the beautiful parks & playgrounds:
> Burrows Park, Ocean St - public toilets, picnic shelters, dog exercise park, football field
> Bundock Park, behind the beach at Clovelly Bay – with playground, access to sand, grassy area, public toilets, BBQ’s, picnic shelters and café/restaurant
> Burnie Park, Burnie St – playground and picnic tables
2/ cycle in Centennial Park, on the kids bike-track & playground for little ‘uns or ride around the whole park with the older kids – there’s also the central playground & café, plus the playground at Oxford St gates
3/ walk the Bronte to Coogee coastal track (pram-friendly only from Coogee heading north to the south side of Gordons Bay)
4/ find an outdoor café and grab a flat white & babycino at one of Clovelly’s many child-friendly breakfast and lunch spots, including: Green Mango or Clodeli (Fern St intersection), Finks (Burnie St shops), Specc (opp. Clovelly Hotel), Seasalt (near the surf club)
5/ swim, snorkel or rock hop at Gordon’s Bay
6/ explore Waverley cemetery, where you’ll find the grave of poet Henry Lawson and aviator pioneer Lawrence Hargreave
7/ get into books at Muffledux bookshop, Clovelly Rd – free story time Thursday 10am, coffee shop, play area for children, and school holiday programme
8/ check out the toys at Kidoodle, Clovelly Rd – toys, party supplies and craft workshops
9/ see the annual Sculpture by the sea exhibition on in October-November each year on the spectacular Bondi-Tamarama coastal walk
